50th Lutheran Laymen's League Kansas District Golf Tournament Report
For 50 years in a row, except during the COVID pandemic in 2020, the Kansas LLL has sponsored a golf tournament to
raise money for the
Lutheran Laymen's League Kansas District Project. The year of 2023 was no exception.
On the beautiful day of June 24, 2023, 29 golfers met to play golf at the Village Greens Golf Course in Meriden, Kansas,
After eating Mr. Goodcents sandwiches for lunch, 18 holes of golf were played.
Fellowship and entertainment was enjoyed by all.
The winners were as follows:
Winning first place
with a score of 57 was a team from Christ Lutheran Church of Manhattan.
Team members were Bill Wuggazer, Emily Wuggazer, Erick Horton, and Scott Spellman.
Winning second place
with a score of 59 was Manhattan team #4.
Team members were Dennis Tegtmeier, Luke Larson, and Jarod Wilson.
Prizes wee given for the longest drives on two different holes, the longest putt, and
the closest drive to the pin.
The tournament will be played again in the next year, 2024. Whether the
tournament will be moved out west or the played again at the Village Greens Golf Course
has not been decided as of the date of the LLL Kansas District Convention.
Date, time, and venue of the 51st LLL Kansas District Golf Tournament will be announced
during the first quarter of 2024.

49th Lutheran Laymen's League Kansas District Golf Tournament Report
The 49th annual Kansas District golf tournament was held Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the Village Greens
Golf Course near Ozawkie, Kansas. As in previous years, the Lord provided a perfect day for
golf for the 25 tournament participants. Plenty of food and fellowship was enjoyed by all.
Special thanks are extended to Ty Nieman, Becky Nieman, Randy Noll, and Kenneth Buttron for setting
up and taking information for the participants. Thanks are also extended to Thrivent Financial for its grant.
The Manhattan team took first place.
Individual Prizes were awarded for the closest ball placement to hole on the
third green, for the longest drive on hole #6 and hole #17, and for the longest putt on the tenth green.
Come enjoy the 2023 golf tournament on June 24 at the same location.

The 48th annual Kansas District golf tournament was held Saturday, May 1, 2021, at the Village Greens
Golf Course near Ozawkie, Kansas. As in previous years, the Lord provided a perfect day for
golf for the 28 tournament participants. Plenty of food and fellowship was enjoyed by all.
Special thanks are extended to Ty and Keely Nieman for the wonderful lunch and drinks. Special thanks are also
extended to Becky Nieman, Randy Noll, Kenneth Buttron, and Richard Lally for setting up and taking information
for the participants. Thanks are also extended to Thrivent Financial for its grant.
Three Hanover teams and the Manhattan team took the first four places.

The 47th annual Kansas District golf tournament was held Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the Village Greens
Golf Course near Ozawkie, Kansas. As in previous years, the Lord provided a perfect day for
golf for the 34 tournament participants. Plenty of food and fellowship was enjoyed by all.

The 45th annual Kansas District golf tournament was held Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the
Village Greens Golf Course near Ozawkie, Kansas. The Lord provided a perfect day for
golf for the 38 tournament participants. Food and fellowship was enjoyed by all.

43rd Lutheran Laymen's League Kansas District Golf Tournament Report
The 43rd annual Kansas District golf tournament was held Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the
Rolling Meadows Golf Course near Milford, Kansas. The Lord blessed the day with
picture perfect weather for the 33 golfers to enjoy.
Following are the top four team results:
1st place - 62: Nortonville: Mark Nieman, Ty Nieman, Randy Noll, Kris Schmidt
2nd place - 65: Abilene: Rev. Justin Panzer, Shawn Panzer, Jared Panzer, Josh Chewning
3rd place - 66: Abilene: Rocky Sanders, Lucas Sanders, Rick Chewning
Prizes were awarded for longest drive (Jared Meyer), closest to the pin
(Ty Nieman and Darrin Fey).
A special "thank you" is extended to all who made
this fellowship event a success. In particular, Scott Manning, Rocky Sanders, and Norber Stigge
are acknowledged for their efforts as members of the LLL Kansas Fellowship Golf Committee.
